After assuming ownership of what was once a private road – 248th Avenue S.E. between 14th Street S.E. and 17th Street S.E. – the City of Sammamish will begin paving a 1,000-foot section of the roadway on July 20.
The paving project is expected to be completed by July 22.
After the roadwork is complete, the city will also add a soft-surface walking path on the west side of the road.
A hard-surface path will be added to the east side of the road at a later date.
The city took over the road after a number of residents who were responsible for maintaining the private corridor noted that a lot of non-local drivers were using the road.
This section of 248th Avenue S.E., which is located south of Beaver Lake, will be closed to non-local traffic during construction.
