Dori Weppler passed peacefully at Chateau at Valley Center in Renton, WA on September 17, 2017, almost 90 years old. Born in Idaho on October 12, 1927 to Ira and Mary Wren, she grew up on a Depression-era farm and was the last living member of nine siblings, who’d settled in Washington, Idaho, California, Chicago, Florida and Nova Scotia.

Meeting Bill Weppler at the University of Idaho and marrying just after WWII heralded the lifelong adventure (57 years) of raising five children, building five houses (sweat equity!), landscaping, salmon fishing, weaving, sailing, and hiking. Dori completed 17 years of assisting Bill as he directed Ecology Education at Camp Waskowitz in North Bend (Highline Schools). Her journals show: travel, watercolor painting, but, most of all, family ties and faith, sustained her through the years.

Survivors are daughters Sheila Robinson of Santa Rosa, CA and Dawn (Ken) Arriola of Ketchikan, AK; sons Scott (Donna) Weppler of Auburn, WA and Chris Weppler of Spokane, WA; niece Carol (John) Friends of Mercer Island, WA; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, apples of her eye! Preceded in death by husband William Barton Weppler and her son of 18 years, William Ashley Weppler. Mom will be laid to rest next to Dad at Tahoma National Cemetery.
