George Edward (Mac) McAninch passed away October 16, 2017, in the loving arms of his family following a period of failing health. George was born on September 29, 1924 in Vandergrift, PA to Hazel Shook McAninch and Wayne McAninch.
He served as a fighter pilot in the Army Air Force during WWII, stationed in the Far East. He graduated from Penn State University in 1950 and married the love of his life, Lois Jean Condra, in December 1950. George and Lois moved to Washington State in 1952 and George pursued his forestry career with Weyerhaeuser in the Raymond and Snoqualmie areas. George and Lois resided in Issaquah/Sammamish from 1970 to 2007 and were active members of Faith Methodist Church.
George is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Lois, and by his children Laurel (Gary) Padgett of Savannah, GA, Don McAninch of Seattle, Hazel (Gary) Baldschun of Renton, Linda Amesquita of Seattle, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
