Laurence Allan English passed away in Vancouver, WA, on Jan. 27, 2019. The fifth child of Henry Colvin and Minnie (Smith) English, he was born April 19, 1931 in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Larry graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1949 and married Sara Virginia Lee on November 4, 1950, in Bonner Springs. After serving in the Korean War, he graduated from Kansas State University in Civil Engineering, earning his Master’s degree from University of Kansas. Larry and family moved to Issaquah, WA, in 1969. Larry loved hiking, backpacking and crosscountry skiing, and was a member of the Seattle Mountaineers. He also enjoyed astronomy, music, gardening and genealogy. Larry was a member of Newport Covenant Church in Bellevue, WA, then University Presbyterian Church in Seattle.

Survivors include two children: Laurie Mudge (John) of Vancouver, WA, Eric English (Annette) of Seattle, WA, four grandchildren: Daniel Mudge, Lindey, Lauren and Erin English of Seattle.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2 pm at The Issaquah Valley Senior Center, Issaquah, WA. Larry’s cremains will be buried, along with Virginia’s, in the Edwardsville Cemetery at Edwardsville, Kansas. Condolences can be posted at http://www.evergreenstaples.com.
