Theo Nassar | Obituary

June 8, 1939- August 15, 2024

Theo Nassar, longtime resident of Issaquah, died peacefully on August 15, 2024, after, suffering an acute stroke. Born in Seattle on June 8, 1939, to Polish immigrants Emil and Theodosia Skowronek, Theo took to the arts at a young age. performing often as a solo concert pianist and with her older brother Felix, a flutist. She danced classically as a teen under Mary Ann Wells and graduated from Franklin High School. She met her future husband, Ed Nassar while attending Washington State University, graduated with a degree in Social Work studies and moved with Ed to Spokane after they married. Work took the family to Tacoma, and back to Spokane again. Theo had a strong love for nature and exploration, regularly participating in the Audubon society and the Mountaineers. She also enjoyed travelling abroad to such destinations as Lebanon, Poland, China, and Mexico. As a junior reporter for the Spokesman Review, she honed her writing and investigative skills which fed her passion for writing screen plays and novels. She moved from Spokane to Los Angeles to adapt her screen plays into movies. During this period, she taught ESL classes, worked on several movie sets and wrote for the Glorious Ladies of Wrestling television series. Theo returned to live in her childhood home in Ranier Valley and ultimately moved to Issaquah where she made lasting friendships through the Senior Center and other community connections. She never lost her love for her family, friends, reading, cinema, her Polish heritage and the Northwest.

Theo will live in our hearts forever and is survived by her daughter Roseanna (Mike), son Khalil (Angelika) seven grandchildren Annamarie (Mark), Jessica (Lyle), Alexandra, Jacob, Joseph, Jennah, Chanel and nine grandchildren, Makai, Jade, Toby, Jemma, Tate, Mateo, Ezra, Torren and Tanner.
