Ulia Irene Foland of Issaquah, WA, passed away January 9, 2018 at the American Sunrise Adult Family Home in Bellevue, WA. Irene was born January 17, 1920 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Laurence and Bertha Long Ammerman. She attended Mooreland Elementary School. The family moved to Yakima valley in 1933, and she graduated from Yakima High School in 1937.
She married Wilmar Hiatt in April 1938 in Selah, WA. They moved to Issaquah in December of 1948. She was the owner of Issaquah Mobile Home Court; Sky Ranch and she drove school bus for the Issaquah School District.
Irene was a charter member of the Issaquah Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 3054, a membership she kept since 1950. She was also active with the Lady Auxiliary with the Issaquah Eagles.
Irene married Floyd Foland in April 6, 1978 in So. Bend, WA.
Irene loved her family and took particular joy in the family’s annual Christmas party – a family tradition maintained for over 50 years.
Irene is survived by five children: Ronald (wife Beverly) Hiatt, Robert Hiatt, Carole Hiatt, Joyce Hiatt, Randal (wife Carie) Hiatt. She will also be missed by her 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Carl, Arthur and Earl Ammerman, and her sister Charlotte Ammerman Henning.
