Darcy Burner will get us back on track | Letter

As an African-American father of three, I've come to appreciate the opportunities I had growing up in Seattle. I'm concerned that after 30 years of trickle-down economics, many of the social programs I once took for granted no longer exist. It's as if corporate earnings have become our priority instead of the future world we leave our children.

As an African-American father of three, I’ve come to appreciate the opportunities I had growing up in Seattle. I’m concerned that after 30 years of trickle-down economics, many of the social programs I once took for granted no longer exist. It’s as if corporate earnings have become our priority instead of the future world we leave our children.

It’s time we take back our country’s narrative. On a local level, Darcy Burner, candidate for the 5th Legislative District, has what it takes to lead that cause.

Before Bernie Sanders entered the presidential race, I accepted the false premise that our best days were behind us. Bernie not only galvanized a national movement, he inspired the youth to get involved. Darcy Burner has taken on Bernie’s mantle of getting our community back on track for a better tomorrow.

She understands we must be committed to peace and prosperity for the American worker. As both the owner of a successful small manufacturing company and a full-time mother, Darcy understands the struggles we working parents face. She’s exactly what we need to put the Pacific Northwest front and center in the global economy of the new millennium.

I’m with Darcy because she’s with “Us!”
