Editorial Cartoon: Outlook hazy for Seahawks

Frank Shiers Jr. has lost optimism for the Seahawks' playoff chances following news that Marshawn Lynch and Jimmy Graham had been taken out of the equation

In this week’s editorial cartoon, Frank Shiers Jr. has lost optimism for the Seahawks’ playoff chances following news that Marshawn Lynch and Jimmy Graham had been taken out of the equation.

Lynch underwent surgery for a hernia Nov. 25. The surgery put the running back on the sidelines for at least three weeks, but Pete Carroll told The Seattle Times he could potentially be done for the remainder of the season. Thomas Rawls is starting in his absence.

Graham was sidelined after tearing his patellar tendon in Sunday’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Traded to the Saints in March, in exchange for Max Unger and one first-round draft pick, the tight end’s injury puts him off the field for the remainder of the year.
