Giving diapers to families in need is really important. Help Eastside Baby Corner (EBC) spread that message through Oct. 2 during Diaper Need Awareness Week by supporting the National Diaper Bank Network. You can do this by following EBC on Facebook and Twitter as we share stories of families impacted by diaper need and ways that we can all work together to help local families thrive.
Why do we need Diaper Need Awareness Week? For the fifth consecutive year, Diaper Need Awareness Week will draw attention to the issue of families struggling with diaper need and will prompt individuals, organizations, diaper banks, communities and elected officials to take action and help get diapers to babies who need them.
“Eastside Baby Corner has been a great help giving our families a helping hand when times are tough. When diapers can’t be passed out, some of our families have struggled and had to resort to using towels or no diapers at all. Having diapers gives our families comfort knowing they have help for their children,” said Rhonda, a Snoqualmie Tribe member. The tribe is one of Eastside Baby Corner’s provider partners, and we provide them with the necessary items to meet the needs (including diapers) of the families they work with.
There are currently 5.3 million infants and toddlers living in low-income families, many of whom face a daily struggle to secure a necessary supply of diapers. EBC can help families like these by providing access to diapers through donations and drives. Visit our Diaper Need Page to learn more.
