Three of Skyline’s starters put up double-figure points Saturday night, helping the Spartans to a 62-51 home victory over Eastlake.
Miles Edwards and Kasen Williams, both playing their first games since winning a 4A state football championship, scored 12 points apiece. Cory Hutsen added 10 points for Skyline, which moved to 1-0 in league and 2-0 overall.
Skyline led 28-15 at halftime, allowing Eastlake just three second-quarter points. The Wolves pulled to within five points at the end of the third quarter, before the Spartans erupted for 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Michael Russo led Eastlake with a game-high 13 points. The loss dropped the Wolves to 1-1 in league and 2-1 overall.
Issaquah falls short to Garfield
Issaquah dropped its second straight league matchup Friday night, falling 61-45 to Garfield.
The Eagles stayed close with the Bulldogs early, trailing just 13-10 after the first quarter, but Garfield just continued to build on its lead from there.
The Bulldogs’ Desjuan Newton led his team with 17 points. Issaquah sophomore Nick Price led all scorers with 18 points. The Eagles fell to 0-2 in league and 2-2 overall with the loss.
Crusaders stopped by Panthers
Seattle Prep jumped out to a fast start and lever looked back Friday night, beating Eastside Catholic 58-34. The Panthers led 24-8 at the end of the first quarter, and the Crusaders couldn’t recover.
Jon Callans led EC with a team-high 13 points. DJ Fenner had a game-high 22 for Seattle Prep.
Eastside fell to 1-2 in league and 1-3 overall with the loss.
