Issaquah wins KingCo 4A wrestling tournament
The Issaquah Eagles wrestling team captured first place at the Class 4A KingCo wrestling tournament, compiling 203 total team points on Feb. 5. Skyline finished in second place with 169 points and Eastlake tallied a fourth place finish with 124 team points. Issaquah wrestlers capturing individual titles in their respective weight classes consisted of William Tickman (120), Kaleb Solusod (160) and Dean Pearson (182). Skyline grapplers nabbing individual championships at the KingCo tournament were Kona Bertolino (106), Kenta Despe (113), Scott Huff (138) and Nick Beatty (195).
Local grapplers advance to regionals
Issaquah grapplers capturing a spot at regionals included Carson Tanner (106), Nathan Asistin (113), Ellis Losey (138), Kamil Soloweiji (152), Chase Helgeson (170) and Tobin Lewis (195). Skyline wrestlers clinching a berth at regionals consisted of Thomas Jakle (106), Cole Turner (113), Zach Froeber (132), Paul Abboud (138), Jaron Jin (145), Chris Harper (182), Matt Oss (220) and Caleb Inton (285). Eastlake wrestlers advancing to regionals were Adam Henderson (145), Rogan Kopper (170), Noah Morse (182), Eric Plummer (220) and Matt Budoff (285).
