Eastlake repeated its opening-game success from last season, earning a 37-7 win over non-league Mount Si.
The Wolves trailed 7-0, before rattling off 37 unanswered points.
Quarterback Kelby McCorkle passed for 127 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a 32-yard TD run. Running back Cameron Hunt rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, and Michael Maguire added an interception return for a TD.
Eastlake will go for its second straight win at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11 at home against Lake Washington (0-1).
Eastside Catholic stumbles in opener
Eastside Catholic couldn’t contain standout running back Larry Dixon, who rushed for 299 yards and four TDs in a 24-10 victory Saturday afternoon.
Down 12-0 in the first quarter, the Crusaders rallied back within five when quarterback Connor McCormick hit receiver Luke Nelson for a 33-yard touchdown. Danny Omilek added a 39-yard field goal later in the quarter, but it was all the points Eastside could muster.
The Crusaders and new head coach Jason Gesser will look for their first win at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11 when they host Archbishop Murphy.
