Eastlake concluded its regular season with a 5-2 loss to Newport Wednesday afternoon, but still locked up the top spot in the KingCo Crest.
The Wolves were led at the plate by Sammi Stavig’s 2-for-4 performance. Lexie Jaeger and Lindsi Augenstein each had doubles.
Augenstein picked up the loss, going six innings, allowing five earned runs, nine hits and three walks.
Eastlake finished the regular season with an 11-5 league record. The Wolves will open the KingCo 4A tournament up Monday against the KingCo Crown champion Woodinville (15-1) at 7 p.m., at Redmond’s Hartman Park.
The winner of that game moves into the tournament championship on Thursday and locks up a state tournament berth.
Skyline routs Garfield in regular-season finale
Skyline defeated Garfield 11-1 in five innings Wednesday afternoon, finishing with the third best record in the KingCo Crest.
The Spartans were led by Anya Kamber’s 3-for-3, two-home run, five RBI performance. She also had two stolen bases.
Lauren Richards earned the win, improving her record to 9-2.
Skyline begins the KingCo 4A tournament next Tuesday at Redmond’s Hartman Park.
Issaquah blanks Redmond, locks up second seed
Issaquah defeated Redmond 3-0 Wednesday afternoon behind a one-hit shutout from senior Mikenzie Voves.
She had six strikeouts and didn’t walk a batter in the victory.
Christian McKone was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run.
The Eagles finished their regular season with a 9-7 league record and the second seed in the KingCo Crest. They begin the KingCo 4A tournament next week at Redmond’s Hartman Park.
Eastside Catholic drops Metro opener
Eastside Catholic couldn’t hang on to a late lead Wednesday afternoon, falling 11-10 to Nathan Hale in the opening round of the Metro Tournament.
The Crusaders led 10-3 headed to the bottom of the fifth inning, but allowed four runs in the fifth and sixth innings to lose the game.
Alex Johnston was 3-for 5 with a double and a triple and Courtney Brown was 2-for-4 to lead Eastside Catholic at the plate.
The Crusaders face Ingraham at 3:30 p.m., today at Lower Woodland Park.
