After a slow start Wednesday night, the Issaquah girls turned up the intensity, and cruised past Ballard, 45-23.
The Eagles led just 7-6 after one quarter, but outscored the Beavers 14-5 in the second quarter, and 15-0 in the third to pull away.
Junior Mackenzie Schiltz led Issaquah with a game-high 15 points. Junior Brooke Miller and freshman Aimee Brakken scored eight apiece.
The third-ranked Eagles improved to 7-0 in league and 10-1 overall. They face rival Skyline at 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15 at Bellevue College.
Skyline slides past Roosevelt
Behind freshman Haley Smith’s career-high 15 points, Skyline edged Roosevelt 44-42 Wednesday night.
The Spartans trailed by one, 32-31, headed into the final quarter, before rallying for the victory. Kassia Fortier added 13 points for Skyline, which improved to 3-4 in league and 6-5 overall.
The Spartans face rival Issaquah at 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15 at Bellevue College.
Eastlake tripped up by Lake Washington
Eastlake suffered its second straight KingCo loss Wednesday night, falling 48-42 to Lake Washington on the road.
The Wolves were outscored in the first three quarters, carrying a 37-28 deficit to the fourth quarter.
Eastlake was led by Sam Naluai’s nine points. Kenzie Carlson and Kendra Morrison each had eight. Three Lake Washington players scored in double-figures, led by Colleen Walsh and Sam Brender, with 11 apiece.
Eastlake, which dropped to 2-5 in league and 6-5 overall, faces rival Redmond at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15 on the road.
