The Issaquah boys cross country team’s dominance throughout the regular season continued Thursday afternoon at the KingCo 4A cross country championships at Lake Sammamish State Park.
The Eagles, who finished undefeated in regular season dual meets, earned 61 team points, finishing first ahead of Redmond (96) and Skyline (109).
Seniors Chris Brasino and Kevin Lemond earned fifth and ninth place, respectively. Mack Young of Redmond won the race in 15 minutes, 53 seconds. Brasino, who led through a majority of the race, finished in a time of 16 16:04. Lemond finished in 16:11. The Issaquah duo became only 14th and 15th varsity boys in school history to run at the KingCo meet all four years.
Dennis Leigh (16:15) placed 13th in Thursday’s race, while Turner Wiley (16:20) took 16th, Jon Wallis (16:21) was 18th and Isaac Robinson (16:34) was 22nd.
Skyline’s Kyle Branch edged Bothell’s Kevin Holmes at the finish line for third place overall in 16:00. The Spartans also received top finishes from Mark Frerker (16:16) in 14th place and Keegan Symmes (16:38) in 26th.
Eastlake finished sixth overall with 142 team points. Curtis McCarson (16:33) finished a team best 20th place, while Paul Kupcis (16:37) was in 24th.
