Issaquah took its first lead in the third quarter and continued to pad its lead in the fourth.

Maddey Pflaumer led the Eagles with a season-high 26 points while Sabrina Norton contributed seven.

Issaquah was playing its season game without starting guard Blaire Brady, who injured her knee in Friday’s win over Redmond. As a result, the Eagles struggled on Saturday, falling 65-37 to Bellarmine Prep in the Assist for Life girls basketball event at Steilacoom High School.

The Eagles are now 7-0 in league and 9-4 overall. They are scheduled to play Roosevelt (4-3, 7-5) next at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday in Seattle.

Skyline wins up-and-down battle with Hazen

Skyline led big, then trailed on Monday, before fighting back to beat Hazen 54-49 in the Comcast Showcase at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

The Spartans, who led 17-6 after the first quarter, were outscored 32-18 over the next two quarters to fall behind 38-35. Skyline got a second wind in the fourth quarter retaking the lead and holding on.

The Spartans were led by Lucas Shannon’s 17 points. Bryan Cikatz and Will Parker both scored 10, while Jonah Eastern had nine.

Skyline improved to 9-4 overall with the victory.

Eastside Catholic boys net win over Plateau neighbor Eastlake

Eastside Catholic rose to the occasion Saturday night over its larger neighbor, taking down 4A Eastlake 61-59 at ECHS.

The game went back and forth, and was tied 44-44 headed into the final quarter.

Joey Schreiber’s game-high 26 points led the Crusaders to victory down the stretch. Jake Springfield had nine while Matt Callans and Skyler White scored eight apiece.

Conner Iraola led Eastlake with 20 points. Brandon Lester scored 11 and Nick Kassuba scored 10.

Eastside Catholic improved to 4-9 overall with the win. Eastlake dropped to 5-8 overall.

Eastlake girls cruise to win over Eastside Catholic

Four Eastlake players scored in double figures Saturday as the Wolves rolled to a 72-51 victory over Eastside Catholic.

Eastlake was led by Caleigh McCabe’s 16 points. Abby Carlson and Kendra Morrison scored 15 apiece, while Katy Ainslie scored 11.

The Crusaders’ Michaela O’Rourke led all scorers with 25 points. Alex Johnston added nine for Eastside Catholic.

The Wolves improved to 11-2 overall with the victory. The Crusaders dropped to 3-11 overall.
