Issaquah used its trademark fast start again Wednesday night to put Inglemoor away early and cruise to a 53-31 victory.

The Eagles led 15-3 after one quarter, and 33-9 at the half.

Eight players scored for the Issaquah, led by Mackenzie Schiltz’s 13 points. Domi Mendezona added 10, and Blaire Brady had nine.

The victory was the fifth straight for the third-ranked Eagles, who improved to 9-0 in league and 12-1 overall.

Newport defeated Woodinville 50-41 Wednesday night, leaving Issaquah as the only team in the KingCo 4A without a league loss, and in sole possession of first.

Skyline crushes Ballard

Skyline wasted no time pouncing on Ballard Wednesday night, jumping out to a fast start, and running away with a 67-41 victory.

The Spartans led 19-6 after one quarter and 37-12 at halftime.

Kassia Fortier led Skyline with 20 points — just one off tying her season high. Morgan Farrar added 11 points, while Allie Wyszynski had nine.

Skyline moved to 4-5 in league and 7-6 overall with the victory.

Eastlake downs Roosevelt

Eastlake recovered from a slow start Wednesday night, battling back for a 44-36 home victory over Roosevelt.

The Wolves trailed 17-10 after the first quarter, before outscoring the Roughriders 18-0 in the second quarter.

Sophomore Kendra Morrison and senior Alyssa Charlston combined for 35 of Eastlake’s points, scoring 18 and 17, respectively.

The Wolves improved to 4-5 in league and 8-5 overall with the victory.

Crusaders fall to Quakers

Eastside Catholic got off to a fast start Wednesday night, but couldn’t keep momentum going, falling 66-55 to Franklin.

The Crusaders led 17-12 after the first quarter, but lost the lead for good after the Quakers went on a 22-11 run in the second quarter.

Michaela O’Rourke led Eastside with 23 points. Patrice Toston had a game-high 27 for Franklin.

The loss was the fifth straight for the Crusaders, who fell to 3-7 in league and 6-8 overall.
