Issaquah wins two to start Spring Break trip in Texas | Prep sports news

Issaquah and Skyline are wrapping up Spring Break lacrosse trips, and looking to help put Washington lacrosse on the map

Issaquah began its Spring Break trip with a 9-5 win over Vandegrift (Austin, Texas), bolstered by a balanced scoring effort led by a hat trick from Cody Klansnic.

Zach Fritz scored a pair of goals and four other Eagles scored in the victory.

Jordan Dondoyano went the distance in goal, recording seven saves to help his team to a win.

Issaquah came back with a 7-4 win over Westlake (Austin Texas), as Mikey Giannopulos netted four goals to pace the offense and Dondoyano recorded 10 saves on 14 shots.

Jake Collins, Jake Lindahl and Fritz also found the back of the net in the team’s second win of a three-game trip.

A game against Austin High School will be Issaquah’s last in the Longhorn State, before returning to Washington prep play April 18 against Mount Si.

Skyline falls by a goal in Maryland

The Spartans took the trip east to Maryland, one of the nation’s hotbeds for lacrosse, and fell 8-7 to Towson (Baltimore County).

Skyline is set to meet Gerstell Academy (Finksburg) Saturday, and will host Sammamish neighbor Eastlake April 17 at 8 p.m.
