A run at a state championship ended short Wednesday night for the Issaquah/Sammamish 9-10 year-old Little League softball All-Stars.
The local group of girls lost their second game in the double-elimination tournament held at Freedom Field in Mill Creek, falling to Cascade Little League from southwest Washington.
Issaquah/Sammamish started the tournament off Saturday with a 14-0 victory over South Skagit Little League. They dropped their next game on Sunday to Cascade Little League before beating North East Little League from Seattle on Tuesday.
Cascade Little League’s victory on Wednesday moved them into a game Thursday against Fife/Milton/Edgewood Little League. The winner of that game faces La Center Little League on Friday in the consolation semifinals. The winner of the consolation semifinal will have to defeat undefeated Gig Harbor Little League twice on Saturday to earn the state title.
