Eastlake senior Edward Kim swam a KingCo record time of one minute, 54.6 seconds in the 200 yard individual medley finals at the conference swim and dive championships at the University of Washington Feb. 1, and won the 100 fly in 51.33.
Kim teamed with Caleb Alleva, Markus Zimmerman and Jackson Berman to finish fourth in the 200 medley relay in an automatic state qualifying time.
Skyline swam a state time in the event in the B Final, winning the heat in 1:44.16. Spartans’ senior Ryan Collins swam a state time in the 100 fly, finishing fourth in 54.39.
Issaquah took the victory in the 200 medley relay, with Jason Klein, Ben Nussbaum, Gabe Florsheim and Henry Pratt in front of Mercer Island and Bellevue. Issaquah was second in the 400 free relay with the same group of four swimming 3:19.01. Skyline was third with Collins, Nick D’Alo, Jacob Leahy and Paul Jett.
Klein aso won the 100 free in an automatic state time of 48.67 and was second behind Kim in the 200 individual medley.Keith Nussbaum was third in the 200 free, while Eastlake’s Ryan Carraway was third in the B Final of the event.
Ben Nussbaum also finished third in the 100 backstroke in a state time of 56.13, with Skyine’s Collins fourth.
The Eagles finished fourth in the team scoring, with Eastlake fifth and Skyline 11th.
The 4A District swim and dive meet is Feb. 14 and 15 at UW, with competitors in the pool for state berths.
