The Lakeside Recovery Senior American Legion baseball team finished its regular season strong Saturday, beating Bellevue Legion 5-1 at Newport High School.

Lakeside was paced by solo home runs from Ethan Kalin (Issaquah) and Andrew Kemmerer (Issaquah). Brandon Mahovlich (Issaquah) also went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Aaron Sandefur (Newport) pitched the complete seven innings allowing just one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.

Lakeside improved to 20-21 overall headed into Wedensday’s state sub-regional tournament at Bannerwood Park. They face Cobras Baseball of Tacoma in the opening round at 4 p.m.The sub-regional championship is scheduled for Thursday with a start time to be determined.

The Senior American Legion State Tournament runs July 26-31 at Carlon Park in Selah.
