Little League All-Star District 9 tournaments launched into action on the Fourth of July with the 9-10 year-old baseball tournament beginning at Redmond’s Hartman Park and the 10-11 year-old baseball tournament starting at Issaquah’s Dodd Field. The 9-10 year-old and 10-11 softball tournaments started Sunday at Kirkland’s Everest Park.
Four area teams are competing in the district baseball tournaments, including Issaquah, Sammamish National, Sammamish American and Eastlake. Sammamish and a combined Issaquah/Eastlake team are participating in the softball touranments. All are vying for a shot at their respective state tournaments.
Other District 9 tournaments will begin this weekend. The 11-12 year-old Major tournament starts Saturday, July 11 in Bellevue at Hidden Valley. The tournament will feature an Eastlake team over the last two years won the 9-10 year-old and 10-11 year-old state championships.
The 11-12 year-old Major softball tournament, which started Thursday, will continue through July 16 with games at Eastlake, and the Junior softball tournament will begin July 12 at Kirkland’s Everest Park.
