The Eastlake girls select basketball team captured a tournament title in Snohomish while Skyline's Megan Wiedeman filled up the stat sheet for her team

Wiedeman fills stat sheet in wins

Prior to the storm that left school cancelled and prep teams unable to practice together or play games, Megan Wiedeman had a pair of dominant games for the Skyline girls basketball team.

In her team’s 69-59 win over Garfield, Wiedeman tallied 21 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and a steal. Against Plateau rival Eastlake, Wiedeman put in another 15 points to go with 21 rebounds, five blocks and seven steals.

Local youth squad wins tourney title

The 7th grade Eastlake Select girls basketball team captured a championship recently, besting a field of nine teams from around the region at the Snohomish MLK Tournament.

After posting a 4-1 mark through the first five games, the Eastlake squad topped the hosts from Snohomish 47-35 in the championship game.
