Skyline plays for Arizona championship
Skyline warmed up in Arizona earlier this week, winning its first two contests in the Phoenix Cactus Jam. The Spartans opened the tournament Saturday with a 68-32 victory over Service of Anchorage, Alaska and defeated West Valley of Yakima 68-63 in Monday’s semifinal.
Senior Nick Crossan led Skyline in points in both games, scoring 19 and 16, respectively. Four others reached double-figure points against West Valley, including Austin Weige (15), Cory Hutsen (12), Connor Gacek (11) and Michael Ford (10). The Spartans faced Scottsdale Christian on Tuesday for the tournament championship. Results occurred after Reporter deadline.

Eastlake vies for San Diego tournament title
Eastlake won its first two contests at the San Diego Surf ‘N Slam tournament earlier this week, advancing Surf Division title game Tuesday against St. Joseph, Calif.
The Wolves defeated Sonoma Valley, Calif., 63-52 on Saturday and beat Lakeside of Seattle 44-40 on Monday.
Ellie Martinez scored 14 points in both games to lead Eastlake. She scored 13 in the first quarter against Lakeside as the Wolves built a 32-21 halftime lead and held on for the win.

Eastside finishes sixth in own tournament
Eastside Catholic finished sixth place in a 17-team tournament at ECHS Saturday.
The Crusaders earned 95 points, finishing behind Kentridge (233), Juanita (151), Cedarcrest (143), Bishop Blanchet (111) and Kennedy (110).
A.J. Hostak won the tournament title at 130 pounds pinning Brad White of Kentridge in 1 minute, 16 seconds. Skyline finished in 15th place with 20 points.
