State track and field trophies were awarded at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma last weekend and a handful of Issaquah and Sammamish preps found themselves on the podium.
Eastlake’s Troy Lewis was fifth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 22.43 seconds and Daniel Brady was fourth in the triple jump for the Wolves at 43-08.5, the highest finisher for a KingCo competitor in the event.
Trevon Clark was sixth for Skyline in the 400 in 49.46. Clark anchored a team with Lorenzo Agogliati, Blake Young and Andrew Millett in the 400 meter relay that finished fourth in 3:21.84.
Skyline’s Keegan Symmes finished third in the 1600 in 4:17.13 and was ninth in the 3200 and teammate Garret Corlis was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 168-10.
On the girls side, Ellie Woerner was the runner up in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles for Eastlake, finishing in 14.82. Woerner also made the finals in the 300 hurdles and finished eighth.
McKenna Hogan was also sixth in the triple jump for Issaquah with a mark of 36-08.25 and had the same finish in the long jump with a mark of 17-07.5.
Geneva Ecola also competed in the event for Skyline with a mark of 15-11.75 in the finals.
Gabrielle Gevers finished sixth in the 100 for Issaquah in 12.61. Issaquah’s Grace Englund, Juliana da Cruz, Mack Wieburg and Gevers were fourth in the 800 meter relay while the Eastlake foursome of Ali Becker, Brooke Calhoun, Audrey Knutsen and Woerner were sixth.
Alexis Daugherty was seventh in the 800 for the Spartans in 2:15.71 and Samantha Krahling made the finals in the 3200 for Skyline and finished 11th. Dorie Dalzell earned a fourth place finish in the 400, running 56.77. Marissa Fortier made the finals in the high jump for Skyline.
Cayla Seligman was ninth in the 1600 for Issaquah in a time of 5:04.21.
Englund, Amanda Chalfant, Gevers and Cruz were second in the 1600 meter relay, fractions of a second behind the champions from Ballard with Dalzell, Maria Volodkevich, Daugherty and Maizy Brewer just behind in third in 3:54.33.
Issaquah finished ninth, Skyline 24th and Eastlake in 25th on the girls side in the team scoring. Federal Way won the title with 42 points.
