Sammamish resident Emily Reyer, 14, has continued her success in baton twirling this past year, capping it off with four state titles and two grand championships May 30 at the Washington state championships in the Tri Cities.
She won the state title for the 13-16 year old age group in dance twirl, 2-baton, 3-baton and solo. After winning the state titles, she claimed the grand championships in dance twirl and solo. The grand championships features all the age groups, from 9 to 21 and over.
Reyer finished second in 2-baton and 3-baton grand championship behind Jillian Gibson, another Sammamish resident.
After competing with the California-based Encore team the last year, Reyer took this season off to focus on personal events.
She started the year out twirling at an Eastlake football game, then performed at a University of Washington football game, before performing as part of the renowned 150-member USA Baton Twirling All Stars that marched and performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City.
