Los Angeles-based CBRE Auction Services announced Wednesday it will manage the auction of the Sammamish Club and the nearly four and a half acres it sits on near I-90.

CBRE Managing Director Douglas Johnson said impending retirement for the current managing directors of the club factored into the decision to sell.

While redevelopment of the site is a possibility, Johnson said he expects keeping the club operative will be the motive for most prospective buyers.

The open “out-cry” auction will take place with a webcast on July 26, 2012 and an initial earnest money deposit of $150,000 is required to participate. The opening bid is listed at $2.5 million on the CBRE website.
