Skyline topples state champion Gonzaga Prep in non-league game
The Skyline Spartans attained the ultimate victory on the road against the team that defeated them in the Class 4A state championship game in 2015.
The Spartans registered a 26-23 win in triple overtime against the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups on Sept. 9 in Spokane. Skyline (1-1) will host the Eastlake Wolves at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.
Eastside Catholic defeats Skyview in non-league contest
The Eastside Catholic Crusaders football team improved its overall record to 2-0 with a 31-16 win against Skyview on Sept. 10 in Seattle. The Crusaders will face the Union Titans in a non-league matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 in Vancouver.
Wolves capture second win in a row
For the second consecutive week, the Eastlake Wolves were victorious against a formidable non-league opponent. The Wolves defeated Sedro Woolley 24-21 on Sept. 9 in Sammamish. Eastlake (2-0) will play the Skyline Spartans at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.
Issaquah still searching for first win
Lincoln (Portland, Oregon) defeated the Issaquah Eagles 40-17 in a non-league game on Sept. 9. The Eagles (0-2) will host Inglemoor at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 in their first home game of the 2016 season at Gary Moore Stadium in Issaquah.

Skyline defeats Bothell in season opener on the soccer field
The Skyline Spartans registered a convincing 4-0 win against the Bothell Cougars in their Class 4A KingCo season opener on Sept. 8 in Sammamish. McKenna Ross scored a team-high two goals in the victory. Julia Mitchell and Marissa Carpenter each scored a goal as well. Ava Giovanola had a team-high two assists. Skyline keeper Anna Smith recorded the shutout between the posts.
Issaquah cruises to a victory
The Issaquah Eagles rolled to a 10-2 win against the Mount Si Wildcats in their KingCo season opener on Sept. 8.

Local team to host fundraiser
The Bellevue Blast 16U girls fastpitch organization is holding a fundraiser on Oct. 15 at the Redmond Assembly of God Church, which is located at 16601 NE 95th St. in Redmond. The fundraiser will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Money raised will help pay for the team’s travel tournaments.

Charity event to take place this month
The eighth annual Round the Rock stand up paddle board charity race and exposition will take place on Sept. 17 at Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue. The race will begin at 7 a.m. For more information about the event, visit www.RoundtheRock.com
