Shealee O’Donnell led Skyline to and a second-place finish at Saturday’s District 2/4 meet at Seattle’s Southwest Athletic Complex with two individual titles.
The senior placed first in the 100 meters in a time of 12.5 seconds and first in the 200 meters in 25.76 seconds.
The Spartan’s 800 relay team of senior Amber Dodd, junior Michelle Bretl, senior Kassia Fortier and O’Donnell also claimed a district crown, finishing first in 1:42.46.
Dodd will join O’Donnell in individual competition at this weekend’s 4A state meet after grabbing a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles. Her time of 45.05, narrowly edged out Inglemoor’s Erin Allen (45.12).
The 400 relay of Dodd, Bretl, Fortier and O’Donnell placed second in the 400 in a time of 48.58 seconds. Only Inglemoor (48.33) was faster.
Skyline netted 74 total team points, placing them behind Inglemoor’s 112.
Issaquah finished sixth overall with 43 team points.
The Eagles advanced three individuals on to the state meet.
Sophomore Eva Perry claimed the Eagles’ lone district title, finishing first in the pole vault. She cleared 11-feet, 6 inches, tying her personal best and winning by over a foot.
Junior Haley Jacobson qualified for two state events, placing second in the 200 (25.86 seconds) and third in the 100 (12.56 seconds).
Junior Mallory Cooke improved on her personal best in the pole vault by 18 inches in her last two meets. She cleared 10 feet to lock up the final state spot.
Eastlake finished 15th overall with 11 team points.
Senior Chelsea Orr nabbed the Wolves’ only state meet berth, finishing third in the 1,600 in a time of 5:08.19.
The 4A state meet begins Thursday, May 27 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma and runs through Saturday, May 29.
