A slow start proved too difficult to recover from Thursday afternoon as Skyline fell 4-1 to Lake Washington, ending the season for the Spartans.
The Kangs pushed across two runs in the first inning and another in the third as they built an early cushion and held on.
The Spartans were led by Anya Kamber’s 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Lindsey Nicholson and Lauren Richards added hits for Skyline, which finished its season at 11-11.
Eastlake season ends with three straight losses
After suffering a heartbreaking 4-0 extra-inning loss to Woodinville on Monday, the Eastlake fastpitch team’s season ended abruptly on Thursday. The Wolves dropped back-to-back games at Redmond’s Hartman Park to end their hopes at the state tournament.
Eastlake fell 4-2 to Bothell Thursday afternoon before losing 5-3 to Redmond later in the day
Bothell jumped out to a 2-0 in the second inning. The Wolves were able to fight back and tie the game in the fourth inning on a single from Jenna Eggelston. Bothell pushed across two more runs in the fifth, however, and Eastlake couldn’t recover.
The Wolves had to turn around and play Redmond right after the Bothell loss. The game went back and forth early on but the Mustang’s scored three runs in the fifth to go up 5-3 and never looked back.
Eastlake, which finished first in the KingCo Crest, ended its season with a 14-9 record.
Issaquah season ends at KingCo tourney
Issaquah started the KingCo 4A tournament off strong with a 2-0 win over Lake Washington, but dropped its next two games on Thursday, ending hopes at state.
The Eagles fell 10-2 to Inglemoor before losing 1-0 decision to Redmond later in the day. The Mustangs won the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Statistics from Thursday’s games were no reported.
Issaquah ends its season with a 12-10 record.
Eastside Catholic bats put on ice
Eastside Catholic generated just on hit off of Bellevue starter Emily Fleischman in Thursday’s Sea-King District loser-out contest at South Mercer Field, losing 11-0 in five innings.
The Crusaders surrendered 10 runs in the second inning behind Katie Savard’s three-run hit.
Eastside Catholic ended its season with a 12-7 record.
