Skyline overtook the top spot in the KingCo 4A Tuesday night, beating rival Issaquah 4-0 in Sammamish.
Brooke Bofto’s unassisted score in the 26th minute gave the Spartans a 1-0 halftime lead.
Anna Deweirdt added another goal in the 46th minute, via an assist from Sydne Tingey. Jackie Wilson and Abbie Litka scored in the 53rd and 77th minutes, respectively, both on assists from Maddie Christ.
Goalkeeper Tina Vargas recorded the shutout for Skyline, which improved to 7-0-1 in league and 11-0-2 overall. If the Spartans win one of their two final games they will finish as the KingCo 4A regular-season champions.
Issaquah, which dropped to 6-1-2 in league and 8-4-2 overall can finish no worse than second place. If the Eagles win their final game against Garfield and Skyline loses both its games, they could still finish first.
Eastlake tallies 8th tie
Eastlake battled to its eighth tie of the season and fourth scoreless tie Tuesday night, finishing in a 0-0 stalemate with Woodinville.
The Wolves moved to 2-1-5 in league and 4-2-8 overall. They currently sit in fifth place in the KingCo 4A — one point ahead of Newport and Garfield.
Only the top six teams make the playoffs. Eastlake has two game remaining against Bothell and Roosevelt.
Eastside battles to scoreless tie
Eastside Catholic recorded a 0-0 tie Tuesday against Lakeside.
Nemo Thomas recorded the shutout for the Crusaders, while Madee Ehrenberg kept the ball out of the net for the Lions.
The Crusaders moved to 3-4-3 in league and 5-5-4 overall. They have two more games remaining against Blanchet and Bainbridge.

Skyline fends off Eastlake
Skyline earned a four game victory Tuesday over Plateau rival Eastlake: 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-11.
Maddie Magee and Halle Erdahl recorded 15 and 14 kills, respectively, to lead the Spartans. Madison Stoa added 31 assists, 15 digs and three aces.
Taylor Finlon had 13 kills and 10 digs to lead the Wolves.
Skyline improved to 6-2 in league and 10-2 overall. The Spartans currently sit in third place behind Roosevelt (8-0) and Newport (7-1).
Eastlake dropped to 3-5 in league and 5-7 overall. They currently hold the eighth and final playoff berth in the KingCo 4A.
Issaquah falls shy of upset
Issaquah had first-place Roosevelt on the ropes Tuesday, but came up just short in five games: 25-19, 21-25, 25-15, 26-24, 15-9.
Sam Rogers led the Eagles with 14 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Lindsey Ferguson added 18 digs and nine aces and McKenzie Bostic had 28 assists and three aces.
Issaquah dropped to 2-6 in league and 2-9 overall.
