Travis Strawn scored a goal in the 1st minute and Kyle Olmstead added another in the 16th minute for the early advantage. Braxton Griffin and Jason Twaddle added second-half scores as the Spartans improved to 2-0-1 in league and 5-0-2 overall.

Skyline next hosts Inglemoor at 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Inglemoor trips up Issaquah

Inglemoor jumped out to a fast start and never looked back Tuesday, earning a 3-1 victory over Issaquah in Kenmore.

The Vikings recorded goals in the 5th and 19th minutes for a 2-0 lead. Akash Ramachandran pulled the Eagles within a score at halftime, netting a goal in the 37th minute off an assist from Michael Roberts.

Inglemoor padded its lead in the 57th minute on Collin Duffy’s unassisted goal.

Issaquah dropped to 1-1-1 in league and 4-3-1 overall. The Eagles next host Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Eastside comes up short to O’Dea

Eastside Catholic’s attempted comeback fell just shy Tuesday night as the Crusaders fell 3-2 to O’Dea in Sammamish.

Down 1-0 at halftime, Eastside tied the game early in the second half on Joe Mancini’s goal in the 41st minute.

The Irish countered with two goals in the 44th and 67th minute for a 3-1 lead. Spencer Spears tacked on another score for the Crusaders in the 80th minute.

Eastside fell to 1-3 in league and 2-5 overall. The Crusaders next face Seattle Prep at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12.

BASEBALL

Eastside Catholic makes short work of Blanchet

Eastside Catholic’s bats exploded Tuesday afternoon as the Crusaders rolled to a 19-0 victory over Blanchet in Seattle.

Eastside tallied 21 total hits, led by Jeff Bohling and Matt Wenzinger, who had four hits and five RBI apiece.

Pitcher Kyle Larson allowed just five hits over five innings and struck out six on his way to a 3-0 record.

Eastside Catholic improved to 8-0 in league and 9-1 overall with the victory. The Crusaders are scheduled to face the Braves again at 7 p.m., Thursday at Bannerwood Park.

BOYS LACROSSE

Eastside Catholic boys eke out win over Northshore

Colin MacIlvennie netted four goals and Mike Rambaldini added three Tuesday as Eastside Catholic edged Northshore 18-16 in a Division II lacrosse win in Sammamish.

The teams battled to an 8–8 draw at the intermission before Eastside took a one goal lead in the third. The Crusaders again outscored Northshore by one in the fourth to carve out the win. Eastside Catholic (4-1-0) next faces Tahoma at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 2 in Maple Valley.

Issaquah stomps Overlake

AJ Hoffman netted his first varsity hat trick to lead Issaquah to a 13–3 defeat of Overlake, Tuesday at Issaquah High School.

The Eagles scored five unanswered goals in the first quarter and added another six in the second to take an 11–1 lead into the half.

Alex Cizsewski netted his first career varsity goal and goalkeeper O’neil Hughes had five saves in the net.

Skyline cruises to big win over Lynnwood

Cannon Gardner and Ryan Benz each scored a season-high seven goals as Skyline rolled to a 23–2 Division I lacrosse win over Lynnwood, Tuesday in Sammamish.

Spencer Noonan, Nick Davey and Raymond Hess led the way defensively for Skyline, collectively grabbing 21 ground balls for the Spartans’ offense.  Cory Larson and Christopher Debenham each had three saves in goal for Skyline, which moved to 4-3 overall. The Spartans are next in action against Curtis, at 8 p.m., Thursday at SHS.

Crusaders edge Panthers for first win

Eastside Catholic’s Alex Foreman scored five goals and Lauren Braynaert netted four as the Crusaders earned a 19–18 victory over Seattle Prep, Tuesday at Magnuson Park.

The Crusaders held on to a narrow 10–9 lead at the half before increasing their advantage in the second half.

Eastside Catholic (1-4-0) next faces Mercer Island, at 4:30 p.m., Thursday at Islander Stadium.

Issaquah powers past Roosevelt

Haley, Emily and Katie Mincin combined for 11 goals Tuesday to lead Issaquah to its second win of the season, 16-3, over Roosevelt at Seattle’s Lower Woodland Park Playfield.

Haley recorded five goals, while Emily and Katie each added three.
