The Spartans received an unassisted goal in the 2nd minute from senior forward Michelle Bretl, connecting just four minutes later on another goal from Madi Barney.

Skyline improved to 5-0 in league and 10-0 overall. The Spartans have now outscored opponents 35-2 this season. Bothell’s loss was its first league defeat of the season.

Issaquah girls win 10th straight

Rachel Wheeler’s goal in the 12th minute of Thursday’s game provided Issaquah its 10th consecutive victory — a 1-0 defeat of Woodinville.

The score came off an assist from Margaret Rauch.

Goalkeeper Brooke Miller’s shutout was her sixth of the season, as the Eagles improved to 6-0 in league and 10-1 overall.

Eastlake scores three in first half to beat Garfield

Eastlake scored three first-half goals Thursday night, leading to a 3-0 victory over Garfield.

Ann Heine scored in the 1st minute off an assist from Jaclyn Softli. Julia Bennett then scored in the 12th minute off another assist from Softli, before the senior recorded a goal of her own in the 19th minute. Softli now leads the KingCo 4A with 13 goals.

The Wolves improved to 4-0-1 in league and 6-4-1 overall.

Crusaders get first league win

Eastside Catholic recorded its first league victory Thursday night, beating Holy Names 1-0.

Lisa Kusakabe booted in the Crusaders lone score of the night in the 34th minute on an assist from Kellie Standish.

Eastside is now 1-3-2 in league and 3-4-3 overall.

VOLLEYBALL

Eastside wins eighth straight match

Kameron McLain and Cami Silverman led Eastside Catholic with 10 and nine kills, respectively, on Thursday in a three-game win over Bainbridge — 25-19, 25-20, 25-15.

Silverman and Marlena Norwood led the Crusaders with 13 digs apiece, while Hannah Christie had 11 assists.

Eastside improved to 9-1 in league and 11-2 overall. The Crusaders have two regular season matches remaining, including the regular-season finale, 7 p.m., Oct. 14 at home against second-place Seattle Prep (7-2, 11-2).

GOLF

Redmond edges Eastlake by six strokes

Redmond had two players tie for first Thursday afternoon at Bear Creek Country Club, beating Eastlake by six strokes, 189-195.

Charlie Mroz and Lyle Rudnicki each shot even par 36s for first place. Eastlake’s Evan Alston was third with a 1-over par, 37, while teammates Spencer Weiss and Jack Fisher tied two other Redmond players with 3-over par, 39s.

TENNIS

Skyline nets a pair of team victories

Skyline earned two team victories Thursday afternoon, beating Woodinville, 4-3 and Redmond, 4-3.

No. 1 singles player Arman Manji earned a pair of two-set victories, downing Woodinville’s Nate Billett, 6-2, 6-2 and Redmond’s Jeff Jou 6-2, 6-2.

No. 4 singles player Prithvi Ramkumar also earned two victories as did the No. 2 doubles team of Inchul You and Nick Ziats.
