Anna Deweirdt put the Spartans on the board early, scoring in the 4th minute off an assist from Michelle Bretl. Maddie Christ added an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute for a 2-0 halftime advantage. Christ added another unassisted score in the 55th minute for her seventh score of the season.

Goalkeeper Tina Vargas recorded her 11th shutout of the season, as Skyline improved to 7-0 in league and 12-0 overall.

Eastlake suffered its first league loss of the season, dropping to 5-1-1 in league and 7-5-1 overall.

Issaquah battles to draw with Bothell

Issaquah earned its first stalemate of the season on Thursday, tying Bothell, 0-0.

Alexis Thode had the shutout for the Cougars, while Brooke Miller recorded her seventh shutout of the season for the Eagles.

Issaquah is now 6-1-1 in league and 10-2-1 overall. The Eagles host rival and league-leader Skyline at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Issaquah outlasts Ballard

Issaquah defeated Ballard by eight points Thursday night at Boehm Pool, 97-89.

Kayla Flaten picked up two individual victories for the Eagles, winning the 200 freestyle (2 minutes, 4.15 seconds) and the 500 freestyle (5:34.89).

Stacy Maier won the 100 freestyle in 56.65 seconds, while senior diver Jamie Elderkin won diving competition with 190.3 points.

The 200 medley relay team of Maier, Flaten, Kellie Langan and Marit Borth won in a time of 1:54.20.

Issaquah won fewer events than Ballard, but seven second-place finishes helped the Eagles to the win.
