Skyline used a fast start and a strong finish Friday to remain undefeated, beating Redmond 2-0.
Braxton Griffin got the Spartans on the board first in the 14th minute, scoring on an assist from Travis Strawn.
Skyline tacked on a insurance goal in the 76th minute when James Molyneux Elliot knocked in a goal off a pass from Jason Twaddle.
The Spartans out-shot the Mustangs 26-14 for the night. Goalkeeper Steven Pankiewicz had four saves in the shutout victory.
Skyline improved to 4-0-1 in league and 8-0-2 overall.
Eastlake crushes Woodinville
Five different Eastlake players scored Friday night as the Wolves cruised to a 6-0 league victory over Woodinville.
Eastlake struck early and often as Sam Langston put the Wolves on the board in the first minute via an assist from Mark Matula.
Sawyer Preston (5th minute), James Gee (10th minute), Madison Heck (32nd minute) and Sean Klauer (45th minute) all added goals with Heck scoring again in the 58th minute.
Goalkeeper Devon deAlteris picked up the shutout for the Wolves, who improved to 3-1-1 in league and 5-3-2 overall.
Issaquah earns big win over Newport
Issaquah picked up a key KingCo 4A victory Friday night, beating Newport 2-1 at IHS.
The Eagles got on the board first in the 28th minute when Michael Roberts scored on an assist from Alex Shane.
The Knights tied the game up in the 53 minute on Kyle Sevette’s unassisted goal.
Shane broke the stalemate just 13 minutes later, booting in an unassisted goal to put Issaquah up for good.
The Eagles improved to 4-1-1, moving into a four-way tie with Skyline, Newport and Garfield for first place.

Issaquah falls to Mercer Island in battle for first
Issaquah couldn’t overcome a stifling Mercer Island defense Friday night, falling 8-4 to the Islanders on the road.
Mercer Island goaltender Brian Bernstein had 12 saves on the night as the Eagles struggled to put shots in the net.
Ben Director led Issaquah with two goals, while Michael Hatch and Jake Fritz added one each. O’Neil Hughes had 11 saves for the Eagles, who fell to 7-5 overall.

Issaquah nets big win over Bellevue
Haley Mincin scored a season-high eight goals and had five assists Friday night to lead Issaquah to a 21-7 win over Bellevue.
The Eagles led 15-5 at halftime and never looked back.
Sophie Schiefelbein added four goals and four assists as Issaquah improved to 2-2-1 overall.
BASEBALL
Issaquah rallies in bottom of sixth for win
After allowing three Roosevelt runs in the top of the sixth inning, Issaquah scored two of its own in the bottom half of the inning to walk away with a 6-4 Friday afternoon.
Mitchell Morimoto came through with the clutch one-out single in the sixth, driving in Ethan Kalin and Andrew Kemmerer.
Cole Westover came in the next inning to earn the victory, forcing a double play and pop out.
Morimoto led the Eagles at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Jake Bakamus was 2-for-3 and Kemmerer was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Issaquah improved to 5-4 in league and 7-8 overall with the win.
Skyline cruises past Ballard
Skyline controlled the temp from start to finish Friday afternoon, beating Ballard 6-1 at SHS.
The Spartans were led at the plate by Clayton Huber, who went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Brandon Fischer was 2-for-2 and Nate Litka was 1-for-2 with a two-run double.
Travis Snider earned the victory on the mound, allowing five hits over six innings, one earned run and six strikeouts.
The Spartans improved to 5-4 in league and 7-7 overall.
Eastlake loses shootout to Inglemoor
Eastlake had one of its best offensive performances of the season, but it wasn’t enough Friday afternoon as the Wolves fell 9-7 to Inglemoor.
Griffin Davis led Eastlake at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Grant Beahm was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
The loss marked the 10th straight defeat for the Wolves, who fell to 0-8 in league and 3-10 overall.
SOFTBALL
Big inning lifts Eastlake to win over Issaquah
Eastlake scored all of its runs in the top of the fourth inning Friday afternoon as the Wolves defeated Issaquah 6-5 at IHS.
Down 6-2, Issaquah rallied for two runs in the fifth and another in the seventh, before Sophie Palenscar came in to record the save for Eastlake.
No offensive stats were reported for Eastlake.
Heather Benjamin and Brielle Bray led Issaquah at the plate, both going 2-for-3 with a double.
Eastlake improved to 3-0 in league and 7-1 overall. Issaquah moved to 1-2 in league and 1-2 overall.
Skyline falls to Redmond
Skyline recovered from one early deficit, but couldn’t come back twice Friday afternoon.
The Spartans rallied from a three-run deficit to tie Redmond 3-3 in the top of the third, before falling 9-3 at RHS.
