The Spartans netted their lone score in the 38th minute when Jordan Branch knocked in a score off an assist from Anna DeWeirdt.

Goalkeeper Tina Vargas recorded the shutout for the Spartans, who improved to 8-0-1 in league and 12-0-2.

Skyline still has one regular-season game remaining against Redmond, but has mathematically locked up the top seed. The Spartans will play Issaquah for the KingCo 4A tournament title Nov. 1 at home.

Issaquah readies for post-season with win

Issaquah closed out the KingCo 4A regular season Thursday with a 4-1 win over Garfield.

The Eagles got two goals apiece from Audrey Thomas and Deanna Dakar. Three of those goals were scored in the first half.

Thomas also had an assist on Dakar’s first score in the 25th minute.

Issaquah finished the regular season with a 7-1-2 league and 9-4-2 overall record. The Eagles have secured second place and will face Skyline on Nov. 1 for the KingCo 4A tournament title.

Eastlake blanks Bothell

Eastlake defeated Bothell 1-0 Thursday night, staying in the hunt for a third-place finish in the KingCo 4A.

Kelsey Haberly netted an unassisted goal in the 50th minute and goalkeeper Bryce Kennedy recorded the shutout.

The Wolves are currently tied with Woodinville for third place. Eastlake closes its regular season out Tuesday against Roosevelt.  They can finish no worse than fifth place and have secured a post-season berth.

Eastside Catholic ties Blanchet

Eastside Catholic earned a 1-1 tie Thursday with Blanchet.

KK Standish recorded an unassisted goal in the 74th minute to save the Crusaders from defeat.

EC moved to 3-4-4 overall and 5-5-5 overall. The Crusaders close out the regular season on Monday against Bainbridge.

Issaquah keeps playoff hopes alive

Issaquah kept postseason hope alive Thursday night, beating Ballard in five games: 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-6.

No stats were reported for the Eagles, who moved to 3-6 in league and 3-9 overall. They are in a three-way tie with Ballard and Eastlake, but hold the tiebreaker in head-to-head competition. Issaquah closes its regular season out against first-place Newport next Tuesday.

Skyline routs Redmond

Skyline cruised to a three-game victory Thursday night, beating Redmond: 25-13, 25-8, 25-8.

Halle Erhdahl led the Spartans with 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces.

Alyssa Workman had 31 assists as Skyline improved to 7-2 in league and 11-2 overall.

The Spartans close out the regular season Tuesday against Woodinville. That match will decide third and fourth place in the KingCo 4A.

Eastlake lost in three games Thursday, falling to Woodinville: 25-15, 25-21, 25-18.

No stats were reported for the Wolves, who dropped to 3-6 in league and 5-8 overall.
