The champions of 4A girls soccer will defend their title.
Skyline rushed past rival Issaquah Thursday in the 4A KingCo title game 4-0, taking back the conference title they lost last year to Redmond and claiming their place in the final 16 for the 4A state tournament.
Lindsey Fujiwara opened the scoring for the Spartans and Amanda Johnston put in two goals while the defense was again stellar, recording its 12th shutout on the year.
Aleisha Gable also found the net for Skyline, which is set to host a first round playoff game Nov. 11, 12 or 13.
Issaqauh is still alive for a state tournament berth of its own and will begin that road Nov. 5 at home against Inglemoor.
The Vikes won a pair of games, 2-0 over Eastlake and 1-0 over Woodinville to earn their spot in Tuesday’s matchup, and lost its only match of the year 1-0 to the Eagles.
The winner is the second seed to the state tournament while the loser will meet the third place finisher from Wesco for the district’s final spot.
