The Spartans first defeated Roosevelt in four games, before knocking off Garfield in four games.

Skyline beat the Roughriders 25-13, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, led by Madison Stoa’s 41 assists, 13 digs and three blocks. Maddie Magee threw down 29 kills in the victory.

The Spartans then defeated the Bulldogs: 17-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21. Magee had 20 kills and three blocks, while Stoa had 32 assists.

Skyline moved to 14-4 overall. They now face the WesCo No. 3 at 2 p.m., Saturday on the road. There are still four WesCo teams alive, including Lake Stevens, Marysville-Pilchuck, Monroe, Snohomish. They play Nov. 4 to decide the third and final seed from WesCo.

Eastside Catholic starts Sea-King tourney off with a win

Eastside Catholic started the Sea-King District 2 tournament off with a bang Thursday night, beating Liberty in three games: 25-19, 25-12, 25-11.

Kameron McLain led the Crusaders with 19 kills, while Marlena Norwood had a team-high 17 digs.

Eastside Catholic improved to 16-3 with the victory and will play its next match against Holy Names at 11 a.m., Saturday at Sammamish High School. A win guarantees a state berth and a trip to the title match against Bainbridge or Seattle Prep at 7:30 p.m., Saturday.
