Seattle University Redhawks volleyball player Stephanie Stoll was named as the featured student athlete of the week on GoSeatleU.com after turning in dominating performances during the first two weeks of the 2014 volleyball season. Stoll had four blocks against Texas, six blocks against Pacific and three blocks against Oregon State.

The Redhawks are currently ranked seventh in Division-1 volleyball with 3.13 blocks per set. Stoll, who graduated from Issaquah High School in 2010, has made a significant impact on the Redhawks volleyball program since transferring from the University of Tennessee to Seattle University prior to the start of the 2013 season. In 2013, Stoll put together her best season of her college career finishing with 139 kills and 93 total blocks. The 93 blocks she registered was the fourth highest single-season total in Redhawks history.

“Stephanie continues to improve as a player. She works hard every day and has the desire to continue her own growth while pushing others to achieve around her,” Redhawks head coach James Finley said. “She is a good example for our team academically with a strong GPA and shows good study skills while we travel.”

Stoll, a nursing major, has a cumulative grad point average of 3.522.
