Don Braman and Scott Brayton both earned Coach of the Year honors from the WSSCA

The Washington State Soccer Coaches Association All-State teams are out for the 2011 season and a pair of Coach of the Year winners highlight the Sammamish selections.

Skyline head coach Don Braman followed up his State Coach of the Year honors from the NSCAA with the 4A Coach of the Year recognition from the WSSCA. He was joined on the First-Team by three of his players in midfielder Maddie Christ, defender Jackie Wilson and keeper Tina Vargas.

Issaquah’s Audrey Thomas was the other First-Team selection from the area and teammate Lyrik Fryer was an Honorable Mention defender. Rebecca Priestley of Eastlake was also an Honorable Mention selection as a defender.

Eastside Catholic head man Scott Brayton picked up co-Coach of the Year honors in 3A along with Andy Hendricks of rival Seattle Prep and also saw a pair of his players crack the First-Team, as midfielder KK Standish and keeper Nemo Thomas both got the nod.
