The Issaquah boys track and field team won 16 events on Thursday afternoon, crushing Juanita 112-33 at IHS.
Winners included Alexander Farmer, 100 meters (11.4 seconds); Kyle Farmer, 200 meters (24.1); Matt Hjelm, 400 meters (55.8); Kevin LeMond, 800 (2:01.8); Chris Brasino, 1,600 meters (4:34.7); Jon Wallis, 3,200 (10:10.8); Josh Martyn, 110 hurdles (16.8); Josh Martyn, 300 hurdles (41.9); 400 relay (45.7); 1,600 relay (3:36.4); Greg Finch, shot put (39-5); Daniel Fleischman, discus (112-1); Michael Baba, javelin (134-0); Blake Wedekind, high jump (5-4); Jason Hollaway, pole vault (12-6) and Allen Su, long jump (18-7).
The Eagle girls defeated the Rebels 100-50, winning 11 total events.
Junior Haley Jacobson and freshman Lauren Bruner won two events apiece for Issaquah. Jacboson claimed the 100 (12.9) and 200 (26.7) and Bruner won the 100 hurdles (16.6) and 300 hurdles (51.1).
Other winners included Madison Callan, 400 meters (1:08.2); Nicole Migotsky, 1,600 (5:37.3); Jocelyn Eng, 3,200 (12:38.9); 800 relay (1:53.1); Kelley Chen, javelin (93-7); Riley Foreman, high jump (4-8) and Eva Perry, pole vault (10-0).
BASEBALL
Issaquah hammers Ballard
Issaquah started and finished strong, beating Ballard 13-1 Thursday in Seattle.
The Eagles scored five runs in the first inning and five more in the seventh en route to the big win.
Mike Paulson was 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI. Spencer Rogers went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and Connor Young was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Rogers picked up the victory on the mound. The senior went a complete seven innings allowing just three hits and one earned run, along with nine strikeouts.
Issaquah improved to 5-2 in league and 8-2 overall with the win.
Skyline blanked by Woodinville
Skyline earned just one hit against Woodinville starter Luke Taylor, falling 1-0 Thursday afternoon.
Spartan starter Jayce Nelson had a solid outing, allowing just two hits and one run in his six innings of work. He also struck out seven batters.
An RBI single from Matt Stefanson in the bottom of the first inning proved to be the difference maker.
Wes Blackburn had the only hit for Skyline, which fell to 2-4 in league and 3-6 overall.
LACROSSE
Skyline knocks off Eastlake
Four Skyline players scored two goals to lead the Spartans to an 11–2 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over rival Eastlake, Thursday at EHS.
Max Saffle, Brennen West, Conner Brandt and Spencer Matches each placed two balls in the net as Skyline improved to 4-5 overall. Trevor Olson had 20 saves in the net as Eastlake dropped to 1-4-0 on the season.
