Eastside Catholic rallied from a four-run deficit in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s Metro battle with Bainbridge to come back and win 6-4 in extra innings.

The Crusaders fell behind 2-0 in the first inning and allowed runs in the fourth and fifth innings to fall behind 4-0. Eastside Catholic found its bats when it counted in the top of the seventh, tying the game, before eventually scoring two more in the top of the eighth to seal the win.

Justin David had a two-run home run for the Crusaders, while Braden Wolgamott and Jacob Kelliher added doubles.

Pitcher Sam Lindquist, who relieved starter Andrew Villeneuve, earned the victory for Eastside Catholic. The Crusaders improved to 3-0 in league and 3-1 overall. They host Bainbridge at 3:30 p.m., Friday.

SOFTBALL

Skyline suffers first loss

Skyline finally hit a speed bump Wednesday night after winning its first three non-league games of the season.

The Spartans suffered their first loss of the season, falling 4-1 to Juanita. The Rebels got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fourth inning, then tacked three more runs on in the bottom of the sixth. Skyline received its only run of the game when freshman Mickey Dunn-Blad crossed the plate. She was 2-for-4 on the day, while Anya Kamber also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Skyline fell to 3-1 overall. The Spartans have a week and a half off before they begin their league schedule April 5 at home against Woodinville.

Eastlake drops non-league game to Bellevue

Eastlake, which started its non-league campaign with two consecutive wins, suffered its first defeat Wednesday afternoon in a 2-0 loss to Bellevue.

The Wolves were limited to just three hits off Wolverine pitcher Emily Fleischman. Eastlake sophomore Lexie Jaeger had two of those hits.

Fleischman was 2-for-3 at the plate for Bellevue and drove in one of her team’s runs.

The Wolves fell to 2-1 overall. They don’t play again until their April 6 home matchup against Redmond.

Bainbridge wins big over Eastside Catholic

Bainbridge defeated Eastside Catholic 10-1 Wednesday in Co-ed Metro League play.

The Crusaders lone victory came from Alex Gallent at the No. 1 boys singles position. He defeated Dylan Skeffington in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. All 10 of Eastside’s losses came in two-set defeats.
