Spencer Rogers pitched a six-inning no-hitter facing the minimum 18 batters. His three walks were wiped out by a pick off, a double play and a caught stealing. Shane Yarnell was 3-for-4 at the plate, including a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning. Yarnell ended the game with six RBI.

The Eagles improved to 12-3 in league and 16-3 overall. Issaquah closes the regular season out at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday against Redmond (11-4, 14-5). An Eagle win will secure the KingCo Crest title and a No. 1 seed in the KingCo playoffs, which begin Saturday, May 8 at Woodinville High School. A loss will drop Issaquah into the No. 2 position in the Crest. Under that scenario, both teams would have identical records, but the tiebreaker would go to Redmond, which would have earned its second win over Issaquah this season.

Skyline falls to Redmond, settles into No. 4 spot

Skyline dropped an extra-inning heartbreaker, 10-8, to Redmond Friday. The Spartans, who fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, battled back to score five runs in the top of the fifth and another in the sixth for a 6-3 advantage. They held on to an 8-6 advantage through six and a half innings, before the Mustangs tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, and won it with a two-run walk-off home run from Dylan Davis in the bottom of the eighth.

Skyline’s Jim Sinatro was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and Anthony DeMatteo had a double an a run scored for the Spartans.

Skyline (7-8, 9-9), which closes out its season Tuesday at Garfield, has locked up the No. 4 seed in the KingCo Crest. They will face the No. 1 team from the Crest, Inglemoor, 1 p.m., Saturday at Woodinville High School.

Eastlake woes continue, Wolves drop two more

Eastlake dropped two more games over the weekend, falling 9-8 to Garfield on Friday, and 10-1 to Redmond on Saturday.

The Wolves, who have lost 12 games in a row, are now 1-14 in league and 1-17 overall. They close out the regular season at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday against Newport.

Eastside Catholic picks up a pair

Eastside Catholic earned a pair of wins this weekend, downing Seattle Prep 8-7 on Friday night and Nathan Hale 5-2 on Saturday.

The Crusaders were led by Braden Wolgamott Friday. He finished the game 2-for-3 with a home run, double, three runs scored and two RBI.

Jeffrey Bohling was 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday’s victory.

Eastside Catholic improved to 11-4 in league and 12-5 overall with the wins.

Issaquah ties Roosevelt

Issaquah had victory in its grasp, but couldn’t hold on Friday night, tying Roosevelt 1-1.

Junior Brandon Bergfalk gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute off an assist from Kelby Lemmons. Bergfalk skied over three defenders and a teammate to pound home a header on a corner kick.

Patrick Sholdt scored an unassisted goal in the 80th and final minute, however, to tie the score. The goal came after the game was extended by four minutes.

The Eagles moved to 5-2-3 in league and 7-5-3 overall with the tie. They are currently in fifth place of the KingCo 4A headed into their final game of the regular season tomorrow, at 7 p.m., against Redmond.

Skyline rallies for tie

Skyline trailed for 79 minutes of Friday’s contest with Newport before tying the game 1-1 in the 80th minute on a score from Travis Strawn.

Newport took its lead in the 35th minute on an unassisted goal from Corneliu Ieremie, right before halftime.

The Spartans moved to 6-3-1 in league and 9-4-2 overall. They are tied with Bothell for the No. 3 spot in the KingCo 4A headed into tomorrow’s regular-seaosn finale against Woodinville.

Eastlake fights back for win

Eastlake trailed Lake Washington 2-0 at halftime, before battling back for a 3-2 overtime victory Friday night.

Nick Rudella scored in the 45th minute, Gerard Galvin scored in the 67th minute and Sawyer Preston scored in the 81st minute to secure the victory.

The Wolves, who moved to 5-3-2 in league and 6-4-3 overall, stayed in the hunt for a top three spot in league. They currently possess the sixth and final playoff seed headed into Tuesday’s regular-season finale at Ballard.

Skyline moves into tie for first

Skyline defeated Roosevelt 4-1 Friday afternoon, moving into a tie for first place in the KingCo Crest with Eastlake.

Pitcher Lauren Richards went the complete game for her seventh victory, allowing just one earned run, four hits and striking out 12.

Lindsey Nicholson was 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored and Lauren Wolfe had a two-run triple.

The Spartans improved to 6-4 in league and 9-5 overall, moving into a first-place tie with Eastlake.

Issaquah blanks Lake Washington

Mikenzie Voves earned a complete-game, three-hit shutout over Lake Washington Friday, helping Issaquah to a 2-0 victory. The Pennsylvania University bound senior struck out 13 and walked just one.

Tracy Castonguay was 2-for-3 at the plate for the Eagles with two doubles.

Issaquah improved to 5-6 in league and 7-7 overall.

Eastlake slowed by Woodinville

Woodinville scored all nine of its runs over the first three innings, beating Eastlake 9-1 Friday afternoon.

Katie Engelbrecht and Sara Anderson each had three RBI for the Falcons, who improved to 10-1 in league.

Eastlake senior Lindsey Augenstein recorded the Wolves’ only two hits of the afternoon, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Eastlake fell to 6-4 in league and 9-5 overall, and is currently tied with Skyline for the top spot in the Crest.

EC downs Seattle Prep

Alex Johnston was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI as Eastside Catholic defeated Seattle Prep, 6-2, Friday afternoon.

Ronnie Mae Ayers earned the victory in the pitching circle, and was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Crusaders moved to 9-4 in league and 11-4 overall and sit in third in the Metro Sound behind Holy Names and Bainbridge.

LACROSSE

Mercer Island edges Skyline

Jonathan Wettack scored three goals and had two assists Saturday as Mercer Island defeated Skyline 12-8 in a Division I game on Mercer Island.

Connor Brandt led Skyline with four goals and Haps Seil had 16 saves as the Spartans slipped to 8-6-0 overall.

Issaquah girls remain undefeated

Katie Mincin scored five goals and Sophie Schiefelbien had four on Friday as Issaquah beat Overlake 15-9 in a Division II girls game. The Eagles are now 9-0 in league.
