Issaquah got off to what has become a trademark fast start Wednesday night, but it couldn’t recover from a third-quarter lull, falling 54-47 to Woodinville.

The second-ranked Eagles, who were previously undefeated in KingCo 4A, jumped out to a 18-13 lead in the first quarter. The Falcons knotted the score 26-26 at the half, and a 17-10 run in the third quarter gave them the cushion they needed to hang on for the victory.

Issaquah was led by the 17 points of Maddey Pflaumer. Mackenzie Schiltz had 12 and Blaire Brady contributed 11.

Woodinville, which improved to 10-1 in league and 14-1 overall, was led by Amanda Frost’s 17 points.

The Eagles fell to 10-1 in league and 13-2 overall. There is currently a three-way tie with Issaquah, Newport and Woodinville for the top spot in the KingCo 4A.

Eastlake routes Ballard

Behind senior Alyssa Charlston’s season-high 25 points, Eastlake crushed Ballard Wednesday night, 60-38.

The Wolves scored nearly half of their points in the first quarter, closing the frame out with a 25-8 lead.

Sophomore Kendra Morrison scored 10 points for Eastlake, while Katy Ainslie added seven.

The Wolves improved their league record to 5-6 and overall record to 9-6.

Skyline downs Inglemoor

Skyline kept its post-season hopes alive Wednesday night, beating Inglemoor 58-51 on the road.

The Spartans jumped out to a 31-23 halftime lead with the help of Kassia Fortier’s game-high 22 points. Freshman guard Haley Smith added 12 points.

Skyline improved to 5-6 in league and 8-7 overall. The Spartans are currently tied with three other teams — Eastlake, Lake Washington and Roosevelt — for the fifth- through eighth-place spots. Inglemoor dropped back to 4-7 in league with the loss. Only the top eight teams make the KingCo 4A tournament.
